9.7.2011 in HISTORY

Today 9 July 2011 marks another historic moment for all Malaysians. 10 years or sooner down the road, my boys will be maybe reading this in their history book if not from the many sources available on the net.

Today is CLEAN (Bersih 2.0) day! I spent 3 hours switching between Facebook and Twitter to catch up on the updates and the going-ons down town where our KL City is entirely locked down by the FRUs, police - you name all those authorities you get it!

There's one tweet I read that said from all the tweets/updates being blasted it really looks like that the one in force is da one that is over reacting by shooting tear gas and water canons! The worse was when I read that da force shoot tear gas into a hospital, a maternity ward somemore!!

Bersih 2.0 is about reforming the electoral process in Malaysia. The 8 demands are :

1. Clean the electoral roll
2. Reform postal ballot
3. Use of indelible ink
4. Minimum 21 days campaign period
5. Free and fair access to media
6. Strengthen public institutions
7. Stop corruption
8. Stop dirty politics

While the adults were busy reading up tweets and updates, my kids were busying "spying" on a bird. Why? Coz there's a bird nest in my parents garden.

Thus as our Country goes thru a "cleaning" process, there's new life coming up. I always associate eggs with birth, a new beginning.

Looking at those 3 tiny eggs in the nest with the mummy bird hovering and checking us out to make sure her eggs are untouched, I salute those whom I know personally that took part in today's rally for the betterment of our country and for our future generations. I really admire your intense love for our country and the guts you possess for being there!

Today's rally has shown and reinforce that we are truly 1Malaysia, for all walks of life irregardless of race, faith, believe, age, young or old took that walk around the streets of KL facing the adversity of tear gas and water canons and helping each other out. Not forgetting also Malaysian overseas who staged their own rally in support of Bersih 2.0.

For my kids, all they are anticipating is the birth of those baby birds - the beginning of a new life. Here's wishing Malaysia a new beginning towards the betterment of our future generations!!
