My 'lil Caden + an internal nose cut

My dear Caden,

You gave us a scare last Saturday, July 23rd when you accidently knock yourself against the coffee table edge. Mummy thought you bumped your forehead and immediately took ice and wrapped it with towel to reduce the sweal. You appeared to be okay but when mummy saw blood trickling down your right nose, mummy went into panic mode!

It was then daddy and mummy decided to bring you back to the Accident & Emergency Unit of DSH. This day is also your Poh Poh's actual birthday and we were preparing to receive guest for a small family gathering.

All was well after you calmed down, drank your milk and fell asleep. We heave relief too soon for you awoke crying after 30 mins of nap with blood trickling down your nose again. This time we were really scared and decided to bring you to the child specialist. Alas it was close thus we went to the normal GP. The GP looked into your nose and said it's swollen but dare not touch you further for he feared you may have fractured your nose!!

Luckily traffic was smooth all the way to the hospital and it was not crowded. We checked you thru registration and before long the doctor attended to you. One look into your nose and he said there's a cut there. Doctor showed it to daddy too. Mummy asked if there's anything fractured and this kind doctor said nothing but only a cut. What comfort when we heard this news! :)

The doctor further explained that the actual bone is actually higher and nothing near where you bumped yourself. Makes daddy and mummy wonder at the earlier doctor's comment hhmmm hhmmm.....

While waiting for the bill and medication, you started to behave your normal self and waltz out of the hospital smiling away.

Caden, keep on smiling for you are truly our bundle of joy! Your smile melts our heart . Mummy Daddy and Koko love you very much *muacks muacks*

May this incident reminds you to be always careful as you're quite accident prone! :))

KL Bird Park - revisit

We visited the World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary aka KL Bird Park again this time with an additional family member. Ooh before you start thinking that I'm preggy again, it's NOooo :) I meant we were there with Caden this time. Previous trip was only with Cavan when he was about 3 years old.

The kids these days are obsessed with birds. Could be due to my parent's house nesting baby Magpies now. Will blog about this later when the baby Magpies are more grown up. Caden's vocabulary has extended to birds too and he'll goes "bird bird" whenever he sees one be it on the ground, branch, flying past or at the TV or any image of bird that he sees.

can you spot the lovely bird in between the leaves?

Lots of birds around. The closest to nature here in the heart of KL City.

Spot those birds flying about? It was so so cool! The kids had an awesome time watching the birds flying about wanting a piece of fish or meat that the keeper is giving out.

watcha lookin at??!!

There's also a bird show at 12.30pm and 3.30pm which you can catch. A huge pelican was there to entertain us while waiting for the show to start.

We enjoyed a casual stroll throughout the park rain and shine. No kidding you for halfway on our walk, we were caught in the rain not once but twice!!

Although it rained, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Here's a cutey white parrot snacking away oblivious to people clicking away on their cameras :)

Besides birds, there's also education area and you get to see baby chicks and ducklings. Kids had an awesome time touching and seeing a live chicky and ducky hahahaha.....

chirp chirp....

quack quack...

Magnificient and beautiful Hornbill are there as well. Some in cages, some are free to roam. Look up and you might just spot one on top of you! I always wonder what is "Xi Niau". Now I know it's actually Hornbill!! Guess I learn something new...

Peacocks were everywhere too and if you're lucky you'll spot one proudly showing off. We did in our previous trip and again this time. Not posting the one showing off this time as the feathers were not that nice compare to the previous visit

All in all we spent a solid 5 hours in the park. I definitely recommend you to go if you haven't been there. We will definitely pay them a visit again in the very near future.

For locals, remember to bring your MyKad for discounts :))

Durians ooh ooh Durians!

Been craving for durians since last week. Not helping is when I'm logged into FB and see those status updates and photos of my friends and acquaintances devouring durians! >.<

Yesterday night when Cavan came back from his music lesson, he asked me "Mummy, do you want to eat durian afterwards?" My response (no need to guess lah hehehe..) was "YES!!!"

So we went to one of the two new stalls that opened at one of the Field near our housing area.

Durians aplenty! Step out of the car and immediately your senses will kick in with the strong aroma of the King of Fruits!

Nearby the table that I sat, I spotted this huge durian. It's not those expensive type of durian class but just a normal kampung durian. I have not since such huge kampung durian, have you?

Real and heavy kampung durian. It's definitely not fake!

Then it was indulge time, thus am leaving this with you to salivate!! :p

Adios Amigos!

Putrajaya Floria 2011 Night Floral Parade

Feeling "ng kam muen" (dissatisfied) for not staying to catch the Night Floral Parade when we were there on Saturday July 16, we decided to head down to Putrajaya again the next day after our Transformers 3 : Dark of the Moon show.

So there we were rushing down to Putrajaya after our show ended around 8pm. We were hoping that we won't be too late and miss the parade. Then it'll be all in vain getting caught in the traffic snarl.

We reached and was just in time, for the night floral parade just started. Found a spot and plunked myself down and waited for the parade to come passing right thru. As it was the last night of the Floria 2011 festival, they announced the winners of the floral parade.

It was a sight to behold, the boats are decorated nicely with bright lights. So so beautiful!!

Most Creative Award - YTL Hotels

Best Lighted Award - I-City

Most popular (Private Sector) - Air Asia

Most popular (Public Sector) - Tourism Malaysia

Overall Best Boat - Terengganu

And the rest of the floats are :

Perbadanan Putrajaya

Genting Highlands Resort World

Taman Negara

The floral parade ended with big bangs of fireworks. It was awesome as I lean back on the ground, I felt as tho the fireworks were raining down on me!

And before we call it a day, some snaps in Putrajaya with all those lighted floats as backdrop and the famous Putrajaya bridge!

Indeed it was worth while scurrying down to Putrajaya just to catch the Floral Parade and Fireworks!!

Yikes!! Roaches...

Those who know me will know that Im pretty scared of roaches especially those big 'homey' types, add on if the roach flies past! yikes!!

But I am pleased to say that this roach is pretty cool. See I'm even holding it on my palm :))

Having said this, PLEASE DO NOT produce any REAL roaches in front ok me kay. This is purely plastic roach that Cavan got from his party pack! A different gift idea for those who are gamed enuf for it :D BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Floria 2011 @ Putrajaya

We were there, at the Putrajaya Floria 2011 in the evening and it's packed!! Had a tough time locating a parking spot.

one of the many beautiful bridges in Putrajaya

Couldn't miss these at all. Once you are at the main area of the festival, there's rows and rows of these balloons. I feel happy just looking at em! Each time we will end up buying it. This round it's two so that both boys won't fight over it. Good thing comes in two eh? :)

We ventured first to the outdoor part before heading indoor to the super cold air-conditioned room. There's just so much to see and just ooh so much to snap! Colourful in all shapes and sizes!

There's one particular garden where if I'm not wrong, KL Bird Park people are there for you to snap photos with birds and snakes! yikes!!... once I spotted those sssssss creatures, I went back out!!

There's display from various states and countries and all of them are so lovely. The only disappointment I felt is not staying back for the fireworks.

Ooh yes my Master Cavan kept on asking bout the fireworks but dear boy it's just too long to stay and wait for it. We target for New Year to watch fireworks okay if there's none coming up the next few months... Decided then to head over to Alamanda Shopping Centre to grab our dinner before heading home.

We had some flaming food at The Manhattan Fish Market. After filling up our lil tummies, it's time to bade Putrajaya adios.

.....but not before having a goofing session with the two kiddos. Here's Caden is making ssshhh (to quiet down) action but dunno why this time he held up two fingers and it looks like he's stuffing it up his nose! yeuw!.... hahahaha...

At the end, both kiddos ended up sleeping all the way home with mouth open WIDE! LOL :p

Kuala Selangor Fishing Village

Sunday evening and nothing else better to do, don't know where to go, don't know what to eat, we decided to drive down to Kuala Selangor for some look around and makan-makan.

On the way so very tempted to check-in at Penjara Sg. Buloh (jail) in Foursquare :p Cruise here and there and finally landed at this fishing village. I believe it's the heart of Kuala Selangor's town. Lanes are small, cars aplenty and we had a hard time searching for a parking spot!!

Abundant seafood restaurants along the way, some by the main road some you have to drive in really small lanes to get to the restaurant. Took my pick and tried out this Restaurant Kuala Sungai.

Glad to say that my pick turned out not bad. Will definitely give this restaurant a visit again in the very near future and need more "kakis" so that we can order more food!

very 'young' coconut ~ natural sweet juice and tender coconut flesh

As it was only four of us (2 adults & 2 kids), we were not able to order more dishes. We choose to have fried meehoon with lala (single serving), fried squid, fried vege and kam heong bamboo shoot. These plus two coconuts and the total bill came up to RM45! Cheap or not??

Took some shots around the restaurant (yeah we were sitting by the riverside) and the kiddos spotted this birdie....

Definitely will make another trip there and this time to visit more places in Kuala Selangor before heading to the restaurant for dinner :)
