At first, Derek “can’t handle the tooth” – bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers’ homes…doing what tooth fairies do. Random : Avatar

Me and hubby watched Avatar courtesy of Nuffnang mid Dec-09 :) I was not too well watching Avatar after consuming Old Town's curry mee. However, it did not deter me from sitting and watching till the end with half closed eyes! (the movie was 2.5-3 hours long!!)

The visual effect is great! and the blue-eyed "alien", well let's just say they are cute in their own way :)

While we were window shopping at e-Curve one weekend, we stumbled upon this! Dang! No camera at that time so we left and when we were there again a week later, we took the opportunity to snap some photos and this time Cavan was with us.

Alas the blue-eyed gal was taken away, only left the guy.

posing with the 'alien'

A closer look now......

And as usual Cavan asked why this man he got a tail? blue colour and his ears are pointy!! hehehehe....

Gals Nite Out @ Vintry

Another event that happened earlier part of this month (14.01.10)

We had a "gals nite out" at Vintry, Jaya33. Most are all "aunties", a category that you automatically qualify for once you get married irregardless of whether you have kids or not except for 4 who are still single and available! :)

Vintry @ Jaya33

We choose Vintry @ Jaya33 as it was a convenient location, nice ambience and it's spacious enough compared to the Damansara Heights branch (aka Ribs). However the outlet @ Jaya33 do not serve pork. It's halal and thus we couldn't try their signature dish "siew yuk".

aunties and single ladies

Our nite out was also to bid two of our colleagues goodbye. Pretty mummy Valarie and lenglui Joan. One is to be a SAHM (stay-at-home-mum), the other to seek greener pastures.

with Valarie (seated) and Joan

We ordered a few appetizers, main course, dessert and even opened a bottle of wine!

some of the spread we had

Snap snap here and there for memories....

cheers! *gulp*

Another group pic before we bade goodbye for the nite.

Caden

With a 2nd baby, I just cant seem to find time to do digital scrapbooking. I've been neglecting Cavan's blog. My to do list is to change his blog header to rope in his lil brother Caden as well and to also post up digital scraps of them both!!

Caden is going to turn 5 months old this coming February 11th (time just past by huh..) and I've not been good in keeping tab of his developments. His babysite is also neglected! hehehe...

Thus continuing from my occasional update on Caden here, I witnessed my baby turning himself for the 1st time yesterday! Yay! Good job Caden! Just too bad that I was not able to grab my camera in time to snap a pic of him on his side before flipping on his tummy!

And ooh earlier in the day at his paed's office. He was such a brave boy. He didnt even shed a tear when the paed administered his vaccination. All Caden said was "hmph"!! hehehe... isnt he a cutie boy?

Genting ~ Awana & Highlands Theme Park

This is such a back dated post!

We went to Awana Genting on 8 January and stayed a night there. After check-in, we lazed around in the room and later in the evening brought the kids to the swimming pool. Alas it was drizzling a bit while they were in the pool but the water is warm enough so it's okay to be in the rain for awhile :)

Enjoyed our dinner at Gotong Jaya, back to the hotel and had drinks at their lounge before retiring for the day.

The next day after breakfast at Gotong Jaya and met up with my brother and sister-in-law (they had prior engagement the nite before), we headed up to Genting's Theme Park. Half of us drove up, the other half took the Genting Skyway. It was the grandparents that took the grandkids up to Genting using the Skyway! :) except for one grandkid Caden that followed me by car.

We bought tixs to the outdoor theme park (Elaine, Nicklaus, Nicolle, Cavan, hubby and myself). My parents, brother and Caden "lepak" at Old Town Kopitiam. Went for a few rides. Can see that my nephew, niece and Cavan enjoyed themselves tremendously. Cavan was particularly excited seeing snakes and iguana on display for photo shoot. Heck, the guy even placed the snake on his shoulder and boy was he steady! Me? I was screaming and running away!!! LOL!

Spent a good few solid hours at the Outdoor Theme Park before we headed into the Indoor Theme Park. The kiddos still has lots of energy while my energy had started to shrink *aiks!* hehehe.... Thus I stayed back hanging around looking after Caden while the rest continued on. Indoor Theme Park is a wee bit boring with slow tortoise pace ride for younger children. Had enough of these rides when we brought Cavan on his first holiday when he was reaching a year old.

We left Genting for KL late late evening and went to Bukit Tinggi to have our dinner. A short and tiring holiday!!

De start of Bento Making...

Cavan started K1 this year and I'm challenged to prepare lunch boxes for him. His kindy hours extended to 12.30pm (4 hours) vs last year was 11.30am (3 hours) as goverment made it mandatory for pre-schoolers to have longer hours in school.

We enrolled him for additional Mandarin Language Program and thus Cavan has to stay back in school 3 days a week. He will have a 1 hour lunch break before his additional Mandarin class commence thus I have to prepare lunch box for him. It's rather expensive to have his lunch caterred for in school.

With this, I will be posting up the lunch boxes I've prepared :)

Bento #1 (Chinoz ~ 12 Jan 2010)

fried meehoon with prawns and fish cake, car shaped hard boil egg,
orange and cucumber

Cavan only ate all the prawns, the egg white, all the oranges and few slices of cucumber. Left behind was the egg yolk, the meehoon and 2-3 slices of cucumber!!

Picky eater? Yes!

Bento #2 (Fusion Musion ~ 13 Jan 2010)

fried pasta with broccoli, sweet corns and carrots, grapes

2nd day and not bad, he only left 1-2 mouthfuls of the pasta and finished all the grapes!

I have a day rest from making lunch box on 15 Jan 2010 as his school declared holiday utilising goverment approved holidays for kindy as the teachers needed to attended a training. Good too as I'm so sleepy waking up so so early to prepare his lunch and at the same time prepared my own lunch to work. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!! hehehe....

Till the next Bento... :)

Astro B.yond Bloggers Nite

I had the privilege of obtaining Nuffnang's invitation to attend the Astro B.yond Bloggers Nite @ Modesto's Desa Sri Hartmas.

Astro recently launched Astro B.yond, a new entertainment experience, the first High Definition broadcast in Malaysia. At the Bloggers Nite, we were treated, the first to witness the High Definition Television Commercial for Astro B.yond which is one of the longest television commercial in Malaysia. It is approximately 2.30 minutes!

Besides being able to be the 1st to view this commercial premiere, we were also introduced to the Facebok game "Murder in the Details" that can be found on the Astro Facebook Fanpage. Ground version of this game was played and the lucky winner walked away with Astro B.yond sets with free subscription to Astro B.yond until Dec-2010 and a 32" LG HDTV!!!

Fret not tho as there's 10 more, yes 10 more sets! to be won. You just need to go to the fanpage, take part in the game by spotting the clues, gather the evidence and guess who's the murderer and who knows you could be the lucky winner!

Master of Ceremony

The night was fun filled with refreshments (actually looks more dinner to me) served. We had lamb, chicken, spaghetti, desserts, etc... Addition to this, we were also entertained by the Aseana Percussion Band. Very interesting as the beats rendered out are all thru drums and they were just so happy beating their drums! LOL! I even got to know one of the drummer - Justin Lim :)

Had a near chance of being interviewed and appearing on "Unseen TV". Have you heard of it? Nope? Well then, you just heard it here! Just as we were starting with the interview, we were interrupted by the beats of the Aseana Percussion Band. Thus we push it to later of the night but I didnt stay too late as mother's instinct called me to get back home. Two kiddos waiting for me at home. Guilty if I went back home late before I could talk (well talk with the older boy and the other cooing) with them both :) However, no interview but I got to know Christian Capes the Producer/Presenter of Unseen TV. Cool!

Chief Operating Officer, Astro - Mr Henry Tan

All in all it was an eye opener night for me to attend such an event. It was nice getting to know other bloggers too :)

Hello Vivian, Sher. It's nice knowing you! :)

We were each given a goody bag. Nice!! So loike the diary :)

My Valentine's Day ♥ ♥ ♥

Woo hoo ♥ Valentine's Day ♥ is coming! Even more special is that this year, Valentine's Day falls on the 1st day of Chinese New Year!! ☺

I'm not really into celebrating Valentine's Day as I find it too commercial nowadays with prices of flowers increasing way too much and the most memorable Valentine that I could not forget is finding heart shaped tofu in my soup! It's wayyyy too mushy!!♥ hehehe... and all this is just because it's Valentine's Day!

However.........

... if I get to spend my Valentine with Taylor Lautner, it will be a different story! Heart ♥ shaped tofu in soup or heart ♥ shaped potatoes, watever it is, it's gonna be a really cool Valentine dont you think so?

Hhmmm...what am I'm gonna do with such a HOT star on Valentine's ♥ day?

B.R.A.G ☚ of course. You are just so jealous rite? rite? hahaha... I think we'll just go for a superb nice dinner in one of KL's hot spot, the look out point where our background will be the KL view ☺ followed by some drinks later on. A simple and nice outing on Valentine's ♥ Day.

Of course these will all take place AFTER I've checked out his well known six packs!! tee-hee-hee :p

Alrite, enough of crap from me. Go check out this new movie this Valentine starring a host of ★ ★ sssss.....

I'm a Tooth Fairy

I still believe in Santa Claus. What more believing in Tooth Fairy? Just sad that during my childhood, tooth fairy did not pay me a visit :( and I found out as I aged (not a very good word to use heh) that in reality the tooth fairy is your parents!

However, deep deep down I still believe in fairies :) Thus, coming into our cinemas soon is the Tooth Fairy starring Dwayne Johnson. Wouldnt it be fun watching a male Tooth Fairy with wings and tutu??

If I'm a Tooth Fairy, the gadgets that I want would be a tooth detector to detect the exact location where the child has placed his/her tooth and a deep cozy nice dream sprinkles. I would first use the deep cozy nice dream sprinkles and sprinkle it on the sleeping child. This will ensure that the child's sleep is not disturb and with the tooth detector, be able to detect the child's tooth and replace it with a 50 cent coin :) Im 100% sure the child will wake up feeling nice from a wonderful dream and delighted to find the 50 cent coin under his/her pillow!

Yeah, think I'll do this on my two boys when their tooths start to come out. It will be a delight to see their joy finding 50 cent coin in exchange for their tooth!

image was googled out :)

Nuffnang Friso Family Day Out!

Started off the New Year with Nuffnang Friso Family Day Out at Kidzsport & Gym, One Utama. The 2nd time Nuffnang and Friso has this and also the 2nd time we are attending it. We had a blast the 1st time they had it in Year 2008!

We were slightly late arriving that day and this was what greeted us. A long que at the registration counter!

This time I found that the quality of the t-shirt for the kids are not that good compared to previous. However, the sticker quality where our names are written is good! hahaha...

After changing Cavan into the Nuffnang Friso 't', we went and took the "must take" picture of the day ie. standing in front of the big signage.

spotted!
strollers all lined up neatly and prettily :)

We explored the play area as the event has not started yet (remember the que outside?). Some snaps here and there at the ball pit. Cavan even ropped in daddy to play Wacky Ball with him!

The event started with the MC rounding all parents and kids up. Tough job getting the kiddos to gather not to mention sitting still!! followed by the usual speeches...

It was then break-up time where younger kids (nursery) will have their activites in the rooms and the elder kids have it at the play area. Parents also have activities with nutrition talk and special parenting talk by Ruth Liew.

I left Cavan and hubby at the play area and headed for the talks. I'm interested in Ruth Liew's talk!

The first talk is by Friso nutritionist which is very informative. Take part in the quiz session and you get gifts! :) Very simple, just answer the questions which is E.A.S.Y. Heck, I got myself a fluffly pillow hehehe...

Next up is Ruth Liew, an expert in parenting and early childhood care. She's a regular columnist in The Star paper. Instead of delivering the standard talks, she answered questions given to her earlier. Found it informative and engaging.

At the end of the session, I took a picture with her! Dont want to miss opportunity mah...

Towards the end of the session by Ruth, hubby and Cavan joined in. After awhile the little boy was restless and hungry. Took him to do sand art as lunch was not ready. Halfway thru, lunch is announced. Cleaned up Cavan and took him to his lunch area.

enjoying his lunch at the children's lunch area

The next highlight for the children is the magic show!

children all waiting anxiously for the magic show to start

distractions for the kids while waiting...

Cavan was all excited for the magic show.....

the magician

BUT
when the magician re-appeared in this red robe, he got scared. Few children were heard wailing/crying! Heck, I'll also get nightmare if I stared at him too long and have that image stuck in my mind! hahaha....

the magician looks like something out of Harry Potter

Compared to the previous magic show which is very mild, this round the magician uses real fire!! Very interesting but may not be suitable for those kids who is very young.

Cavan stayed and enjoyed few of his acts before the red robe got to him again (on and off the magician will wear his red robe). What to do, he wants his mummy so I brought him to do sand art again while daddy stayed back and enjoyed the magic show.

The prize giving ceremony took place after the magic show ended. Did not win anything but won in terms of cherish memories and having a great day out with Cavan (hehehe...left Caden at home).

Ooh before leaving the venue, we were given goody bag. Nice! :)

If there's another such event, I'll be there again :) so long as I managed to get the invitation!
