Winter Solstice

This year's Winter Solstice was spend at home. No gathering this year due to the recent demise of my 3rd aunt.

I only made the "tong yuen". This is also from the frozen pre-pack "tong yuen". Early morning, I boiled the pandan leaves, ginger slices and sugar for the syrup. When we're ready to eat the "tong yuen", I prepared another pot of boiling water. No defrost is required. When the water is boiling just add the "tong yuen" and once you see those balls floating up, scoop them up into a bowl and add the ginger sugar syrup and it's ready to be eaten!!

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! This is said to be a bigger occassion than Chinese New Year!!
