Happy Birthday Mum!!

Celebrated mother's birthday with a simple dinner at Bandar Sri Damansara. All were present except my hubby who is in Singapore.

It was a nice meal and a great get together for everyone :)

Guess how old my mum is ~ she's 66 years old this year. Looks young right?

Thanks mum for everything. Appreciate in the care, patient and love you shower on Cavan especially during his tantrum periods. I know how you feel now when I was little and did the same thing!! hehe...

Happy Birthday Mum, PohPoh.

Distance makes the heart grows fonder....

It has been quite awhile since hubby travels.

He got a very very short notice to travel to Singapore for training and the duration is 2 weeks. Over the weekend, we had to cut short our holiday at Holiday Inn Glenmarie to pack his stuff and get $$$ exchanged.

I'm a bit not used to it with him not around the house at night... sigh, at least Cavan is with me to occupy my time :)

Mommy Brain

For all mothers ~

If you've left the crayons to melt in the car,
And forgotten just where the car keys are,
There's a perfectly good way to explain :
You see, you've come down with "Mommy Brain"

When you're not sure where the past 8 hours went,
Or whether the phone bill check's been sent,
If you've left the laundry drying in the rain,
It's just -- you guessed it -- Mommy Brain

If you find yourself chatting for hours on end,
About diaper prices with your cyberfriends,
You've just caught a particularly virulent strain,
Of that affliction known as Mommy Brain

If you left your bags at the grocery store,
Or completely forgot what you went there for,
If you called the cat by your baby's name,
You can bet that Mommy Brain's to blame

And if you know the words to "Goodnight Moon" by heart,
Or you study your sleeping babe like a work of art,
If you're always surprised by how time is flying,
And the thought of that first birthday starts you crying....

It's unavoidable girls, and I feel your pain,
For I too suffer from Mommy Brain
But I'll admit one thing -- of this I'm sure :
I hope they never find a cure.

Fire!! Fire!!

Today's weather was gloomy, same as my mood since I woke up as I can feel sore throat encroaching me :(

However tonight, it was an eventful evening for me as history repeats itself again!!! Previous story can be found here (Cavan's babysites).

7.55 - 8.00 pm : noises outside below and I thought someone is having some fun and voices carried high up

8.00 - 8.06pm : a monotonous horn is heard (later found out that my opposite unit released this from her verandah)
** fire alarm did not go off. Hhmm.. (residents just took over the handling of the management from the developer, something fishy going on??...)

8.07pm : my phone rang and a friend staying same block as me but lower floor called and inform me of that there's a unit on Level 1 that caught fire on her side of the wing (our condo shape is U)

By that time, my door was open and I was checking/talking to my opposite unit at the same time and my house phone rang and hubby informed me of the same thing!!

Unlike previous where I was panicking and jittery, I was calm and collected and went and took my valuables and checked with my opposite unit if they intent to go down (our building is made of concrete cement and for fire to spread to our end, it would take quite a while, so we have a bit of time :p)

After some ding-dang here and there, we finally were ready to go down but alas the electricity was cut off by then and we were in total darkness!!! Nevertheless, we made our way down and just then the fireman arrives (took them 25 mins! due to traffic jam). Before this, we already saw from my opposite unit's verandah that residents were pulling hoses to put out the fire.

Below are some shots I took while standing around feeling feverish and cold (well, I've been feeling this way the whole day!!).

It seems that the block I'm staying is full of incidents :

Year 2006 : 2 fires incident (1 major & 1 minor)
Year 2008 : someone fell off from 16th floor & 1 fire incident

Ooh the cause of the fire (initial investigation) as we later found out is that the unit just move in today and purchase a gas from the mini market. Apparently the gas head was not fixed properly and thus the fire started from there!!

Mission Possible - Day 2

Today, July 2nd is the second day.

Good, it's been over 24 hours since I really have a proper solid meal. Still keeping up a-okay!! Does not feel tired. However towards evening, I feel like munching on something.

Went home and had a handful of endamame (it's peas, not oily and supposed to be healthy??!!)

........

Happy to note that my weight went down 1kg from Day 1 (hope that my scale is accurate!!) haha..

........

Day 3 approaching...can't wait for Day 4 and I can eat my food!!

My notes ~
Morning : half pack
Lunch : full pack
Dinner : full pack
Accompanied by handful of endamame, apple and pear

Mission Possible - Day 1

July 1st - Day 1 of my mission to try out a meal replacement plan for 4 days (Positrim - Cafe au lait flavour by Amway)

Morning : drank half cup as was feeling a bit full and was totally surprised that the taste is lovely, better tasting than herbalife's cappucino!!

Mid morning : has 2 pieces of eggroll from Macau. Colleague just came back from HongKong and Macau trip. Before her trip already told me she'll buy and let me try when she's back. So I can't say "No" (just 2 pieces, won't bring me any harm right? :p)

Lunch : had the full packet and surprisingly I'm actually full. Brought apple and pear slices and was not able to finish it. Just a few slices and I'm done for my lunch!

Dinner : another full packet and it lasts me until the next morning...

So far so good, able to resist solid food and not feeling a wee bit tired or shaky body due to hunger!!

Darn, I forgot to weigh myself before I started the plan in the morning. The weight now in the evening will do...

My notes ~
Morning : half pack
Lunch : full pack
Dinner : full pack
Accompanied by apple and pear
