The Engagement - Liza & Jeeb

29 June 2008 marks my cousin sister Liza's engagement to Jeeb. They are a lovely couple. The engagement ceremony was well organised and went smoothly. It was the first time for me attending an engagement ceremony not to say a Malay engagement :)

At the time set, the fiance arrive with his entourage bringing with him trays of gift (hantaran). Both families chatted a while followed by a short prayer and the exchange of rings. Their wedding is set for January 2009 and I'm already looking forward to it.

As she is the last of our cousins of marriageable age (there's still Kingston on the same rank :p), there's talk that there will be a Chinese tea ceremony for the aunties. That means our mother's rank! This idea has gotten our aunties (yep including my mum) excited and ideas was rolling out to get both the bride and groom to wear what else but the traditional chinese clothes. This is going to be something different for this sweet and lovely couple!!

Although my aunt and uncle are not on this earth to celebrate their daughter's engagement ceremony, I am very sure that they are rejoicing above and is happy with her choice.

Life is Good, Live It!

Long long time since I step foot inside a stadium. Went to a National Convention where Life is Good, Live It! is the theme.

The stadium is packed and I don't regret going as the whole evening was fun, motivating and exciting!!

Some pics to share captured thru my mobile and please bear in mind that I'm seated very far and high from the stage!!

Of flowers no, plant and chilies??

Unusual looking flowers or should it be categorised as plant?

chilies in various colours ~ check out the purple colour chili!

Took my mum and aunt to nursery as they need to purchase some flowers, earth and fertilisers and shot these two flowers/plants.

The first I like coz it's unusual although I did not bother to ask what's the name *~* and the second is cute coz the last time I saw these chili plant is at Cameron Highlands!

Crazy Day & Night!

June 4th, 2008 :
Heavy afternoon downpour and Government announces a 40% hike in petrol = madness!!

I left the office at 7pm and reached home at 10pm!! Gone thru massive traffic jam and 45 minutes que for petrol (time to refuel that day as it's down to "E" sign) and again endure jam back home although it almost 10pm!! It was a crazy day for me!!

Look who's in the air...

Spotted something different from the usual scenery when I'm in the office...

It's kung-fu fighting and this time it's a panda!!

Nuremberg Festival @ GfK

We had a breakfast sausage festival in our office pantry courtesy of San Ping who lugged back Nuremberg sausages during her business trip to Germany :)

A picture speaks a thousand words, thus the pictures below need no narrator *o*

this is Nuremberg famous sausage

this sausage roll is huge and we cut it into 8 pieces

the spread with croissant and salad
even had a homemade pickled onion!

taa-da!! a healthy yummy breakfast that was so filling, I can skip lunch :)

My fav beef ball noodle

Despite trying and tasting numerous other stalls that offer this, my fav is still the stall located in the heart of KL - Soong Kee Beef Ball Noodles.

It's like a rare treat nowadays for me to go and have this noodle. My usual order would be the dry 'loh shee fun'. This shop is still selling the noodle made from rice (non shiny type) which tastes better compared to those made from flour, etc.. (shiny type).

~ the dry version ~

~ mix it all up! ~

~ the chili sauce ~

The shop is older than me and am not sure what generation is handling this business now. But what I know is that the chili sauce is the same as before!!

Wonder when will be my next visit now for I will have to order the "large" bowl since I'm sharing with Cavan and he love it as well. And yes, to snap a pic of the beef ball. I forgotten about it the other night and straight away all went down mine and little Cavan's tummy :)
